Shortly after we took over Anthology Gear in November 2017, Tyler and I were sitting at a local restaurant on a Friday night and I sketched out an idea I had for a guitar strap design on a napkin. At that time, I already knew what we would call it - Haleakala - inspired by our visit to Maui where we watched the sun rise from the top of the island's volcano by the same name meaning “house of the sun”. That experience imprinted on me a new sense of hope. I have held onto the idea that every day begins with a magnificent sunrise - no matter what precedes the day before - every day begins with hope. I have also held onto that napkin and, earlier this year, decided I wanted to release this guitar strap in 2023. Fast forward to August 2023 and our hearts our heavy for those devastated by the fires on Maui. We want to do what we can to help. Although our Haleakala straps won't be ready to ship until late October, Maui needs our help now, so we will be making the straps available for pre-order. For every Haleakala strap pre-ordered, we will donate 100% of the profits to the Maui Strong Fund @hawaiicommunityfoundation. Mahalo for your support.
